Depression

Depression can take many forms and affect different areas of life, including mood, motivation, energy, sleep, appetite, and relationships. This includes:

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), characterised by persistent low mood, loss of interest or pleasure, and significant impairment in daily functioning

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), which involves cyclical mood changes linked to the menstrual cycle.

Peripartum Depression which occurs during pregnancy and can affect mood, energy, motivation, sleep, and appetite. It may also impact how a person connects with their pregnancy, prepares for parenthood, and manages daily responsibilities

Postpartum depression occurs in the months following childbirth and can affect mood, energy, motivation, sleep, and appetite, as well as bonding with the baby. Our approach focuses on understanding contributing factors, including previous mental health concerns, relationship stress, and life changes, while providing personalised support

At our clinic, we take a holistic approach to understanding depression, exploring potential underlying causes such as grief, past trauma, relationship difficulties, or co-occurring mental health concerns.

Treatment is personalised and may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, or EMDR, depending on your individual needs and goals. Our focus is on helping clients develop coping strategies, connect with their values and sense of purpose,  process underlying experiences, and build resilience for long-term emotional well-being.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, the Dharug people of the Bankstown area and the Eora Nation of greater Sydney. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
